Strong tradition

For more than

100 years

Summer camps are the ideal choice for a child’s first independent introduction to another culture. Camp is safe, fun, enriching in every way and offers a variety of activities not offered at home. The most valuable aspect is the lifelong friendships and bonds formed at camp.

The tradition of children’s camps is very strong in the US and Canada. Each year, over 10 million children spend their summer vacation at one of the 10,000 camps in North America. A significant percentage of these camps have been in operation for over 100 years without interruption.

There are camps that average perhaps 100 children, but there are also camps that care for up to 1,000 children every day. However, the capacity of most camps is somewhere in the middle, at 300 to 600 places.

The camps are located in beautiful countryside, but relatively close to the big cities where most of the children come from.

How do the camps run

No day is

the same

No boring days

Children will try out a range of fun activities and skills – from sports and arts to water and adventure activities.

Technology-free zone

Camp is a technology-free zone where kids can virtually unplug to enjoy real life and make personal friendships.

Accredited camps

All camps we work with are accredited by the American Camping Association and adhere to their strict standards and regulations, including having medical staff present at all times.

Qualified instructors

The camps are run by experts and educators who have worked with children and young people all their lives. Children are supervised and taught daily by qualified instructors, usually between the ages of 19 and 30.

Accommodation and dates

We choose the right

one for you

For whom?

Camps are generally for children aged 7-17 and are either co-ed or for girls or boys only. There are also camps for whole families.

LENGTH OF STAY AND DATES

Camps are available for 1-8 weeks from June to August. Each of the hundreds of camps has different dates. So we also choose based on your time preferences. The minimum stay is 14 days, we recommend 3 weeks. Children in the US often go for the entire summer.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

Children usually live in bunks / cabins with their age group. Some are equipped with air conditioning others are not. Meals can be buffet style or served. The children get to sample many American specialties such as grilled cheese, Thanksgiving dinner, roast beef, mac and cheese, French toast. Each camp can cater differently to different dietary restrictions or preferences.

CAMP PRICE

We also select the camp according to your financial preferences. Approximate prices for a 2-week camp range from $2,000 – $6,000, and for a mid-summer camp (3-4 weeks) range from $3,500 – $10,000. The cost includes all lodging, meals, and programming during the camp stay. The main extra costs are transportation, insurance and pocket money.

Types of US summer camps

From traditional

to special

Traditional - private

The camps have been family owned and run for generations and offer the widest range of activities.

Family camps

Camps for the entire families. Some have more programming and rules, others less.

Sponsored by non-profit organizations

These camps can often be cheaper than privately owned camps. They can typically have more rustic accommodation and host a diverse range of children from different socio-economic backgrounds. These include the Boy Scouts, YMCA, JCC, Salvation Army, and other independent organizations.

Sports Camps

These camps are often located on university campuses, with specialized training sessions run by Olympic coaches and elite athletes. Primarily, these are specialized camps for swimming, tennis, gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, basketball and many other sports.

Religious camps

These camps, like non-profit camps, are funded by churches, synagogues or other religious groups. We work with a number of Catholic, Christian, Jewish and other camps.

Camps for children with special needs

Such as autism, blindness or a whole range of cognitive, emotional or physical handicaps.

We have three children, each with completely different personalities and interests. All three came back from Camp California with endless stories of the fun they had and the friends they made, proving there is something for everyone there. The setting is ideal and the campers offer each other so much, as they come from around the world. It’s the perfect camp experience for any kid!

Amazing location and weather. If you love the ocean this is the best choice for the summer. Plus I made so many friends from all over the world

So the boy came back on Saturday. He made it through the airport without any problems. They were just surprised that he didn’t have an airport assistant 🙂

He was happy at the camp. I think they have such a full program there that they don’t even manage to get bored. The leaders are great. He was just surprised that some kids couldn’t even butter their own bread, some were quite cocky and had a nanny 😀 There were a lot of kids from Arab countries, South America, where the Czech Republic is they had no idea 🙂 Well they have to get used to it. He mastered English without any problems, he had a harder time with that too compared to the others. They speak so normally 🙂

Well, he enjoyed it 😀

Maru was really happy and is looking forward to next year. A little hudrala that the shower only 5 min and such small operational things – but it is everywhere something, so it’s not worth it to address. So next year we are still counting on this camp – ideally again at the beginning of July and if everything is ok, then she would try some of the American ones maybe.
